DJ BELOCK
D.J. Belock is an experienced finance professional with a unique background combining significant strategic, analytical, and capital markets expertise from his investment banking days and building finance and accounting operational platforms and systems for private fund and real estate operating companies. He has been doing part-time and interim executive-level consulting work since 2021, with clients in private equity, family office, and small business ownership. D.J. recently joined Deloache Capital as a senior advisor to work with the accounting and finance team and bring his institutional background to the Deloache platform. From 2017 to 2021 he was Chief Financial Officer at Sterling Organization, an institutional private equity firm that invests in and manages shopping centers. D.J. led the 30+ member Finance and Accounting Department and oversaw property and fund accounting, FP&A, valuation, capital markets, principal accounting, risk management, treasury, tax, and REIT compliance. Before Sterling, D.J. was Senior Vice President of Finance at Phillips Edison and Company, now a publicly traded shopping center REIT. From 2002-2013, D.J. was an investment banker. D.J. spent eight years at Goldman Sachs, serving as a client coverage banker in Real Estate Investment Banking, providing strategic and financial advice to companies in the real estate, hospitality, and leisure sectors. D.J. joined Goldman in 2005 after three years at Bear Stearns. D.J. earned his MBA from Columbia Business School and a Bachelor in Business Administration in Finance from the University of Notre Dame. He is based in West Palm Beach, Florida.
